So I’m reading Little Women.
I’ve never read it before, and I don’t know what is going to happen, but I have a really bad feeling. In my experience books that start out happily, end tragically. I swear if Jo or Beth dies I’m going to be so upset!
Did you read Little Women when you were younger?
There is still a pretty big gender divide between children’s books. For example I read the classic “boy’s adventure” stories, when I was small. Treasure Island and the like. And I was shocked to find out the most the women I know read Little Women and Anne Of Green Gables when they were small, neither of which I ever picked up, I was to busy playing pirates or explorer to care about a dumb farm. But now i’m reading them for school and am really enjoying them. I just reread Treasure Island, and found myself sitting in bed with the book spread on my knees getting just as caught up in the adventure as I did when my grandfather first gave it to me years ago. I strongly believe that we are greatly influenced and shaped by what we read in our childhood, and I think the entire Harry potter fandom is a testament to that. So my question for you today is:
Leave you answers below or answer in detail here!
What did you read when you were little? What books were you favourites? And were they given to you by someone special (parent or grandparent, or older sibling)?
